Executive Director - F.Scott Manke
Scott is the founder, President and Executive Director of Family Empowerment Centers and its daughter organization Donate Your Boat, SMLLC. Scott holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Management with an emphasis in Psychology from Nyack College. Scott completed his Masters degree from Wheaton Graduate School in Mission and Intercultural Studies. Scott had been part of a team of individuals who started a church in the Bronx, New York and held the position of Youth and Families Pastor. During that time Scott also operated in the role of general manager for a small business in New York City for a period of 4 years prior to beginning FECC.
Scott and Natalie (his wife) have made a personal decision to live in the community and make it a priority to stay involved with the people of the community in order to most affectively serve them. Scott is currently a licensed minister within the Christian and Missionary Alliance. Scott is married with four children Hope (10), Chase (8), Faith (5), and Matthew (1). Two of their children are biological, one is adopted, and one they are fostering with a long term goal of adopting.
Director of Family Care - Tom Csora
Tom holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology from the University of Akron. Tom worked in Pittsburgh, PA for several years as a Project Engineer before moving to Chicago in 2001 to pursue a Masters of Divinity Degree from Moody Bible Institute. Prior to joining our organization he worked in the field of Education Technology as technology specialist to faculty and staff at MBI.
Tom and his wife Karin have lived in Rogers Park Since 2002 where they met the Manke's. It was during their years in Pittsburgh however that God began to reveal His plan for them to work among the urban poor. After graduate school God solidified His plan for Csora's to minister full-time in the multi-ethnic community of Rogers Park.
During their time in Chicago the Csora family has grown from husband and wife into a home of 5. They have 4 children; Samuel , Isabela , Noah, and Caitlyn who keep them very busy as they minister together as a family.
