Family Empowerment Centers of Chicago has a very high regard for the family unit and during the holidays we want to encourage families to spend time together. One way in which we have chosen to do this is by giving families with need a basket of food that has all the trimmings for a Christmas dinner.

We fill the baskets with stuffing mix, potatoes, onions, apples, oranges, canned vegetables, desert items and either a turkey or ham. We decorate the baskets and present them to these families as Gift Baskets rather than as a bag of groceries.
