The
services and programs of our organization are designed and implemented
with the whole family in mind and therefore each service is equally
important to carry out the mission of the organization. Enrollment in
the programs of Family Empowerment Centers of Chicago, when possible,
will be managed to ensure that a majority of the participants are from
a combination of lower income households and single parent homes. |

Family Care and Outreach
Healthy families are a critical necessity for our society’s future. For that reason we are continually creating opportunities for families to be empowered and grow. Small
groups that encourage healthy family relationships, premarital and
marital counseling, and recreational activities for the whole family
are some of the opportunities we offer.
Outreach
for us is defined as any activity that cultivates and promotes healthy
family interactions while meeting a social, spiritual, physical or
psychological need.
Our
annual Family Fest event is one example in which all community members,
regardless of ethnicity, age, or gender can come together for a day of
celebrating the family unit. During the holidays, our baskets of hope help families of greater need enjoy a holiday meal together.

Youth and Children’s Service’s
Through our Summer Camp partnerships and other
recreational activities we create opportunities for young people to
have their world view broadened through new outdoor experiences, sports
activities, diverse interactions, and hands on educational
opportunities.
In
partnership with Here’s Life Inner City, Children and Youth from
the community are given the opportunity to receive educational
assistance, a safe place to go after school, recreational
opportunities, life skills training and a lot of love as we run our S.A.Y. Yes Center for Youth Development.
The
S.A.Y. Yes model has been used in cities throughout the nation to
impact young people in urban communities creating opportunities of
empowerment whereby urban youth have a hope in their future.
